Digital X-rays
Digital radiography is the latest way to take and evaluate x-rays. With digital
x-rays, less radiation is needed to produce high-quality images. These images
can then be evaluated on a large flat-screen monitor. This allows for easier
detection of any problems. With such a large image, it is also easier for
patients to see and understand what is happening with their teeth.
Root Canals
Root canals are done to save the damaged or dead pulp in the root canal of the
tooth by cleaning out the diseased pulp and reshaping the canal. The canal is
filled with a rubber like material, to prevent recontamination and further
damage of the tooth. The tooth is then sealed with a post and/or a gold or
porcelain crown. This procedure enables patients to keep the original tooth.
